Do you live in a former Primitive Methodist Chapel?
Are you researching the history of your local church or community?
The first place to check is our community archive website, ‘My Primitive Methodist Ancestors’. This is being developed by volunteers. We are aiming to get a picture of every Primitive Methodist Chapel. Built between 1811 and 1932, there are a lot of chapels to find!
Volunteers are taking photographs of Primitive Methodist Chapels which they discover, and sending them to us, or adding their own page to the website (anyone can do it!). If there is not a picture of a chapel in your area, can you help?
A volunteer project is also working through the Primitive Methodist Magazines to discover information about Chapel Openings. This information is being added to the website. Check it here.
We are not able to do research on individual chapels or local areas, but you are welcome to come to Englesea Brook to look at resources in the Library yourself.
