Strike: The 1842 Potteries Riots   Recently updated !

Join us at Englesea Brook on Friday 8th May for the first Friday Forum Theatre performance of 2026 in which our learning officer, Elizabeth Morris, will use her skills as a professional storyteller to tell a tale from the age of Primitive Methodism. Each performance is followed by a discussion of the issues raised.

Millicent is a slip-caster working in the Potteries in 1842. A member of the Women’s Chartist Movement, she is a fervent supporter of strike action to further the Chartist cause, but the events of 16th August in Burslem are not what she expected…

Tickets £8. Contact learning@engleseabrook.org.uk for bookings. Pay on the door. Not suitable for under 12s.
