The People's Landscape: Methodists, Mow Cop and Social Change

    11.00-3.00Mow Cop Castle

Mow Cop is one of 50 places chosen by the National Trust as part of The People's Landscape Project.

'People, Protest and Politics: Methodists, Mow Cop and Social Change', is an exciting event organised by The National Trust, in partnership with Englesea Brook and Mow Cop Methodist Church.

We want to celebrate the Primitive Methodist movement which transformed the lives of working people in the 19th century, and its lasting legacy.

The day will include pop-up speakers, poetry from Emily Galvin, Staffordshire's poet laureate, singing from the John Moore Quire, a Shepherd's Hut, and more!

Refreshments will be available at Mow Cop Methodist Church.

A walk is being organised from a car park on the Biddulph side, and a Shuttle Bus will run regularly to the top.

Watch the website for more details.
